Hair Salon for Kids
Sunday, February 15th, 2009
Today we took my daughter to a local hair salon geared for kids. It’s also run by a local Mom who deserves kudos. I just love seeing mompreneurs thrive! And we had such a great experience there, I wanted to give a little shout out to Sharkeys for Kids.
We took my daughter for her first hair cut today. She’s getting close to 4 and we’ve never trimmed her hair. She always hated us brushing or playing with her hair, so I couldn’t imagine a trip to the salon being at all successful. Thanks to the Barbie Jeep and Dora on the Tube, my little girl got her hair trimmed and nails painted like a little lady. Our stylist was super nice, and we really hope this business makes it. It’s great to see a fresh idea invigorating our sweet, small downtown business area.

Sunday, February 8th, 2009Maternity Workshop
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009I’m really enjoying maternity sessions. I think in the future, I’d like to phase out of family portraiture, and go for maternity & newborns. I recently took a workshop that focused on maternity and thought I’d share some images from that. Out of respect of privacy for the model, I won’t show any shots with her face, but doesn’t she have a lovely baby bump??

This is the lovely and sweet assistant from the workshop…she was kind enough to pose near a window for this natural light shot. I love her quiet expression, and her dress had a wonderful vintage vibe which inspired the texture play here.

Maternity Albums
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009Gosh, has it been that long since I last posted? Eek! So much for THAT New Year’’s resolution!
Anyway, it’s not like I haven’t been working. I recently revisited a wedding client for yet another major life moment…this time for maternity portraits!
Here are some pages from the album I designed for her. Albums are a great idea if you love a lot of images from your portrait session but don’t know where to display them all. A coffee table book or album is the perfect way to have a personal memento, or dare I say, a Digital Heirloom!
