I have taken a long hiatus with my photography business but I’ve recently had the honour of photographing newborn twins for the first time.  I visited this family about 2 years ago to shoot a smash cake for a gorgeous one year old and now she’s a big sister.  That’s her with the cake in my blog header, by the way.  And let me tell you, she’s even more stunning than before.  G & N, you have a seriously gorgeous daughter.  And I haven’t even gotten started on the sweet twins!  Oh my goodness!  Less than 7 pounds each, these bundles of joy gave me a great workout as they took turns crying while the other slept.  But really, when you’re only a week old, what else are ya gonna do??

Your site is ready, but I wanted to give a shout out here to thank you for inviting me back to capture these early moments of your family.

Yum!  Baby E seemed to think her big brother (by a minute) was particularly delicious.

I’ve been quietly growing.  And growing.  And GROWING!

For those who don’t know, I’m pregnant.  Nearly 34 week pregnant, actually!  I’ve taken time away from my photography business to focus on being healthy and rested to welcome my new baby in March.  My last photo session was actually back in October!

I’m doing well, and am eagerly anticipating the arrival of another baby girl.  You can expect that I’ll have some newborn portraits to present.  I’ve been meaning to do some maternity portraits for myself, but just haven’t gotten my butt in gear to actually set up my lighting gear.

Thank you to those who have inquired about portrait sessions for 2010.  I will honour the ones I’d previously booked, don’t worry about that.  Just give me some time after March to recover!   Beyond that, I’m going to see how being a Mom of Two works out, and if I can manage to continue my business.  I’ve been so honoured to be asked to capture so many wonderful moments for other families, but I do have to remember to stop and just “be there” for my own family.  I know you understand, and I appreciate that you’re willing to wait for me.  Thank you so much!

Hopefully I’ll be able to do more updates once I’m on maternity leave.  Until then….

I consider this wee one an addition to my own family!  Darling Baby Girl E is the brand new daughter of my best friends.  Also little sister to their son, L, whom is also the bestest playmate of my little girl.  We are just so delighted to welcome E to the world.

She slept maybe 2 minutes while I photographed her at 10 days old.  The rest of the time I got to enjoy her sparkling blue eyes. 

I think that’s pretty close to a smile, don’t you?

Hehe, you’d think I’d given her a lemon!

I’m so excited to have another baby take part in my Watch Me Grow package.  This little beauty not only has super nice parents, but the FRIENDS of the parents are ALSO super nice!  Both her Mom & Dad work at the same company, and their co-workers pitched in to get them a full year of photos.  That’s newborn, 6 months, and one year sessions, ending with my beloved smash cake element!  So faithful readers, you’ll get to watch Little Miss K grow throughout the year.  Can’t wait?  Neither can I!

We had such a relaxed session.  Just barely a week old, and so content. 

I’ve been itching to use this hat on a little one for ages!!

You might remember a very recent maternity portrait post for my friend S. You can click here to see those images. I’m delighted to introduce the result of that pregnancy, Miss V. She has an elegant name, and the most wonderful squishy lips I’ve ever seen.  Just 7 days old in these portraits.

Her big brother, X, seems totally excited to have a wee sister, and wanted to hold her every 5 mintues.

So tiny, she fits right into Daddy’s hand.

And I think Daddy is already wrapped around her little finger.  I love seeing men show their tender side like this.

She slept well for me, but also made sure I got a good look at her big brown eyes.

See?  Big, kissable, squishy lips.  Just look at that mouth!!

And pretty, pretty eye lashes.

Thanks for having me come do these portraits for you, S & W.  The pleasure was all mine, and I am going to love watching this beauty grow up.  You have a couple of heartbreakers on your hands!

Just 10 days old, but wiiiiiide awake.  This little one really made me work!  I could get her to sleep, but as soon as I’d put her down and snap a photo she’d wake up!  And I won’t even mention the pile of laundry I had after she was finished with me.  Thank goodness for Tide!

But I just loved her, and watching her parents with her.  This little girl is the result of a recent maternity session I did, and I so LOVED every minute photographing her “before” and “after.”

It’s true…I have a thing for Daddies and Daughters.  I love the delicacy of Baby L next to her Daddy’s strength.

When I saw this image after downloading my cards, it made me chuckle.  I love it.

This baby was 6 weeks old, but since she came early, was still pretty tiny!  She was a real snugglebum with Mom & Dad, and if her sweet older brother is any clue, she’s going to be a major cutie in no time.  I just loved the connection Dad made with his wee daughter.  I have a real soft spot in my heart for Daddies and Daughters!
